For anyone who is thinking of buying a PRODIGY HD2 ADVANCEDeveloper: prinsb Views: 13570
This is a very out of the ordinary soundcard to say the least. With the drivers from VIA you have the following quirks:
· The analog line-in is only active in digital mode.
· It is impossible to record from line-in.
· After a reboot, the settings are back to analog mode.
If you want to use this card with analog stereo equipment and frequently use the line-in, THIS IS WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO:
If you want to play Analog input and PC audio from the PC at the same time, you have to use the EWDM driver.
You have to modify the EEPROM first if you use the EWDM driver.
You can find how to modify the EEPROM as follows;
Step 1. Change the JP4 jumper to ON.
Step 2. [Modifications of EEPROM] Type the "HD2EEPW.EXE" in DOS mode.

Step 3. If computer screen shows "Eeprom write OK ⌒_⌒", reboot the computer.
Step 4. Installed the driver.

And then, look at the picture on the bottom, please set the input monitoring as a picture.
You have to control the volume for line input from equipment.
When using Win XP;
When using Win 7;
(I received this information from AudioTrak)
After this procedure, you can listen to analog music from the pc and from the line-in (at the same time if you wish) and record from line-in.
The settings are saved and you can even use ASIO 2.0.
Thanks.
