white noise on headphones with maya u5

Developer: meeq Views: 33

Product Name : maya u5
OS : Windows 10 64bit
Serial Number : ATSAM18J00708

Hello, i bought outer card called Audiotrak MAYA U5 and  when i plugged my headphones(hyper x cloud alpha) to the new card for the firs time i was welcomed with a white noise, i panicked and tried some things then it turned out that when i lower the volume on the scroll thingy on my headphones to about half the volume the white noise is unhearable(almost, you can very slightly hear it when u try). But then i got curious and i plugged my other headphones(akg ones from galaxy s9) which dont have the scroll thingy on them to lower the volume, then i couldn't eliminate the white noise on them even if i lowered the windows volume to 1.

Is this normal for this card or i have defective item? Should i give them back or switch for another one whish is not defective?

edit: the impedance on my hyperX headphones is 65 Ohm so it shouldnt give white noise, right?

Hello.

The headphone jack of MAYA U5 applies a headphone amplifier.

In that case, please connect to the front of MAYA U5.

Thanks.

I dont know if i understand, is the amplifier causing the white noise? And if by "connect to the front" you mean to connect headphones to the front jack - they are connected to the front jack from the beginning.

Could you try to connect the headphones to the front jack of MAYA U5?

They are connected to the front all the time like in the attatched photo. I didn't plug them from the back.20190930_102318.jpg

Oh you mean the port called "front" on the back of the card! haha! yes i plugged the headphones on the "front" now and they dont have white noise! Thank you. But can you tell me what is the diffrence between those ports? I feel like there is a diffrent sound quality when i plug them in the "front" port. Just asking because im curious now. I feel like the sound is better when i plug them on the front of the card, not in the "front" plug. The bass is way deeper when i plug the headphones like on the photo.

Hello.

The sound quality is no difference between the two.

As we said before, headphone amplifier is mounted on the headphone terminal so you might feel better on headphone jack.

Again the sound quality is the same.

When using the front jack, please try to raise Windows volume.

The noise can occur by the USB port.

Please try to change the USB port.

Thanks.

I tried the usb 2.0 and usb 3.0 and both were the same, maybe i just need to change this card because it is demaged?

Because there are many different types of headphones, if you have the white noise from the headphone jack of MAYA U5, we recommend using the front jack.

We think that is not defective.

Maybe even if you replace the device, it's the same.
